Zeeshan Siddique reports new death threat to Maharashtra authorities

NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique has reported receiving a new death threat via an audio message sent directly to his personal mobile number. Siddique, who is currently outside India, has alerted Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti regarding the incident.

The caller in the audio recording allegedly identified himself as Zeeshan Akhtar of the Rohit Godara gang. The individual claimed that Siddique has been a target since the killing of his father, former NCP leader Baba Siddique. This follows a previous threat involving an email from ‘D Company’ that demanded a ransom of Rs 10 crore.

Mumbai Police have acknowledged the information, though officials noted that a formal complaint regarding this specific audio message has not yet been submitted. Investigators are expected to examine the recording to verify its authenticity and trace its source. The threats follow the October 2024 murder of Baba Siddique, a case in which the Lawrence Bishnoi gang had claimed responsibility.
