Zeewolde advances major housing and village development projects
Housing development projects are advancing in the Zeewolde region of the Netherlands. In the Eilandenbuurt area, the DOK-Noord project has officially commenced construction. Managed by Woonpalet and built by De Bruin, the project will deliver five single-family homes and six lifetime-proof homes designed for middle-income households. The architectural design, created by 19 het atelier, draws inspiration from shipyard designs, featuring waterfront views and specific brick and aluminum aesthetics. Residents are expected to move in around the summer of 2027.
Simultaneously, a major development agreement has been signed for the Oosterwold area. The municipality of Zeewolde, the Central Government Real Estate Agency (Rijksvastgoedbedrijf), and a consortium including AM, Amvest, a. s. r. real estate, De Alliantie, and Heijmans have signed a letter of intent for sub-areas 2B and 2C. The goal is to create two distinct villages that integrate housing, employment, nature, and agriculture. The consortium aims to present a development package to the municipal council by spring 2027, with an initial focus on constructing approximately 2,500 homes to address regional housing needs and the impact of a new Defense barracks in Zeewolde.
