Siena to host world premiere of Franco Zeffirelli documentary

The documentary ‘Zeffirelli – L’ultima opera’, directed by Federico Fazzuoli, will have its world premiere at the Teatro dei Rinnovati in Siena on September 25. The film honors the late Florentine director and scenographer Franco Zeffirelli, focusing on his production of ‘Rigoletto’ at the Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman.

This event serves as a prelude to the 30th anniversary of the Terra di Siena International Film Festival, which is scheduled for October 13–17, 2026. The premiere will be accompanied by a talk show featuring various guests from the film and performing arts industries. The project has previously been showcased at the Cannes Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival.
