Zegereni investors call for paved road to support Kibaha industries
Investors and residents in the Zegereni area of Kibaha are calling on the government to construct a two-kilometer paved road to support growing industrial activities. Currently, the poor condition of the road causes significant disruptions, particularly during the rainy season when heavy vehicles struggle to navigate the mud.
Kelvin Richard Boya, manager of Kinglion Investment Company, noted that the infrastructure issues delay the delivery of raw materials and the transport of finished goods, sometimes forcing factories to halt production and incur unexpected losses. Local drivers have also reported difficulties with trucks getting stuck, which increases operational costs and delays goods reaching markets.
Colin Mwasheni of the Urban and Rural Roads Agency (TARURA) in Kibaha confirmed that the Zegereni Industry 5 road is included in plans for tarmac construction. However, the project requires the availability of funds to begin implementation. Kibaha Municipal Mayor Dr. Nicas Mawazo emphasized the road's importance, noting it serves nine different industries.
