Zeiss supports global eye care initiatives in Asia and the Caribbean
To mark World Sight Day, Zeiss has highlighted global deficiencies in eye care services. According to the World Health Organization, at least 2.2 billion people live with vision impairment, with at least one billion cases being preventable or treatable.
Through initiatives like the Aloka Vision Programme in India and Nepal, the company has provided eye examinations to over 1.9 million people and distributed 23,985 pairs of glasses between April 2025 and March 2026. The program includes refraction testing, eye health education, and referrals to specialist medical facilities.
In the Caribbean, Zeiss supported the organization Sight for Life during a mission in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. During a one-week initiative, more than 90 surgical procedures and over 700 additional treatments were performed.
