Zeki Celik signs with Juventus after disputed Roma renewal

Turkish right‑back Zeki Celik has completed a move to Juventus. The club announced that he passed his medical and signed a three‑year contract that runs until 30 June 2029, with €1 million in accessory fees and a free‑transfer clause after his Roma contract expired on 30 June 2026. Juventus stated, “Zeki Çelik è un nuovo calciatore della Juventus,” confirming the deal.

Earlier reports had suggested a renewal with AS Roma, and Fabrizio Romano posted that the agreement with Roma was “firmed and sealed.” However, Romano later confirmed the Juventus transfer, noting that all signatures and documents were finalized and only the official club announcement remained pending. The transfer ends a protracted negotiation period in which Roma had been preparing a new contract for the player.

The move marks a significant addition to Juventus’s defensive options ahead of the new season, while Roma lose a key defender who had been a regular starter under coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
