Zeko.me terminates Health Insurance Fund contract amid criminal complaints
The Podgorica-based company Zeko.me has terminated a contract worth approximately 95,000 euros with the Health Insurance Fund (FZO) and filed multiple criminal complaints against responsible officials within the institution. The company's executive director, Đorđe Zeković, alleges that the Fund ignored warnings regarding serious irregularities that could have compromised health information systems and sensitive citizen data.
The Health Insurance Fund maintains that the contract was terminated because Zeko.me failed to fulfill its contractual obligations. The Podgorica Basic State Prosecutor's Office has confirmed the formation of a case, which is currently in the investigation phase.
The dispute follows a period of leadership changes within the Fund, including the suspension of director Vuk Kadić and the appointment of acting director Ružica Milutinović Đurišić. The contract in question involved the maintenance of applications and systems based on open-source technologies.
