Zelensky and Netanyahu Honor Late US Senator Lindsey Graham
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu paid tribute to the recently deceased U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham. Zelensky said he met Graham twice in the past week and recalled that the senator visited Ukraine ten times since Russia’s invasion began in 2022, describing him as “a true defender of freedom.”
Estonia’s foreign minister Margus Tsahkna and Latvia’s foreign minister Baiba Braže also praised Graham as a steadfast friend of NATO and a strong supporter of Ukraine. Finnish President Alexander Stubb called him a personal friend and a defender of the Alliance. Netanyahu called Graham “a great friend of Israel” and mourned the loss of “one of Israel’s greatest friends.” Iranian state television reported the death in a hostile tone, while Senate majority leader John Thune highlighted Graham’s long service in the Air Force and Congress, noting his commitment to strengthening America’s global role.
