Zelensky and UAE President Discuss Securing Black Sea Trade Routes

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the United Arab Emirates could assist Ukraine in securing maritime trade routes in the Black Sea, covering food security and the protection of sea lanes, after a phone call with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The two leaders also reviewed bilateral cooperation under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, highlighted the UAE’s role in facilitating prisoner exchanges and humanitarian aid, and reaffirmed their commitment to regional and global peace.

Zelensky’s comments came as Russia launched an overnight missile and drone attack on Kyiv that killed nine people and injured dozens.
