Donetsk defense: Zelenskyy appoints new commanders to lead military groupings
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed two prominent commanders, Denys Prokopenko and Andriy Biletskyi, to lead new military groupings in the Donetsk region. These units are tasked with consolidating a fortress belt of industrial cities to strengthen defenses against ongoing Russian pressure in strategic strongholds such as Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, and Sloviansk.

In related developments, Zelenskyy reported that Ukrainian forces struck 16 sites in Russia over a 24-hour period, including airfields and logistics infrastructure. This included a drone strike that set fire to a Lukoil refinery in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Additionally, Zelenskyy indicated plans to increase the supply of combat tools and ground robotic systems for the Zaporizhzhia front.
