Despite diplomatic efforts, Zelensky highlighted an urgent need for military support, specifically advanced air defense systems and missiles, to protect against Russian strikes. He expressed hope for support regarding the Freyja program and indicated a desire to meet with Donald Trump in late September.
In contrast, the Kremlin has maintained that Russia's peace conditions remain unchanged since 2024. Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov reiterated that Moscow's requirements include the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from specific regions and a formal renunciation of NATO membership by Ukraine.
