Zelensky expresses readiness to meet Putin after Trump meeting

Amidst these diplomatic developments, Russia launched drone attacks on Kyiv, causing fires and suspending railway services. In the port of Odessa, a merchant vessel was attacked, resulting in the death of its captain. Data indicates that at least 226 civilian and merchant ships have been hit in the Black Sea since the conflict began, with 70% of those attacks occurring in the first eight months of this year.
In other developments, a Russian helicopter violated Polish airspace, prompting the deployment of fighter jets. Additionally, the European Commission has urged Ukraine to implement key reforms regarding corruption and the rule of law. Successful implementation by 2026 could unlock 20 billion euros in EU budget support.
