Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in London on 27 July, becoming the first foreign leader to visit since Andy Burnham took office as British prime minister. The two met at a naval base, where they were joined by more than 200 Ukrainian soldiers and sailors who have been training in the UK‑run Sea Breeze naval security and mine‑clearance exercise.

Burnham announced that Britain will share the intellectual property of its new electronic‑jamming system, dubbed “Stone Cloak”, with Ukraine. The device can be attached to drones to block detection by Russian air‑defence systems and will be produced at scale for Kyiv. The UK has already provided roughly £25 billion in aid to Ukraine since the 2022 invasion, including about £16 billion in military assistance.

Following the London talks, Zelensky is scheduled to travel to Washington on 28 July for a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
