Zelensky: Russia attacks Odessa, Zaporizhzhia; Ukraine hits fuel depot

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia launched attacks on the Odessa, Zaporizhzhia and Nipro regions, using thousands of drones, air‑bombs and missiles. The strikes damaged more than 1,500 sites, including residential buildings, and a drone attack in Brovary killed one person and injured six.

Zelensky also reported that Ukrainian forces targeted a Russian fuel‑storage depot in the Saratov region and the Engels military air base, both located over 600 km from the front line. He urged expanded sanctions on Russian companies that supply components for drones, missiles and guided bombs, saying tighter pressure on Russia’s defence industry is essential to reduce civilian casualties.

The statements were posted on the social‑media platform X and reflect the ongoing escalation of the Russia‑Ukraine war, with both sides claiming continued long‑range operations.
