Zelenskyy addresses UN on winter de-escalation and drone warfare

At the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed world leaders regarding the ongoing conflict with Russia. Zelenskyy emphasized the need for de-escalation steps before the winter season, noting that Ukraine intends to make the winter painful for Russia in response to potential attacks.

While Russia maintains a larger missile arsenal, Ukraine has deployed thousands of long-range drones targeting Russian warehouses, port infrastructure, and oil refineries. Zelenskyy also called for intensified diplomacy, suggesting that Chinese President Xi Jinping could exert influence over Russian President Vladimir Putin. Zelenskyy characterized Putin as the primary driver of the war, referring to him as ‘patient zero’ for the conflict.
