Zelenskyy and Pezeshkian address UN General Assembly

During the United Nations General Assembly in New York, world leaders delivered significant addresses regarding ongoing global conflicts. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the assembly, calling on the international community to further restrict Russia's revenue streams to limit its ability to fund the war. Zelenskyy noted that Russia has deployed 63,000 attack drones against Ukraine this year alone. In a viral moment during the event, Zelenskyy responded in Russian to provocations from Russian propagandists asking when he would visit Moscow, stating, “[I am coming] with a rocket.”

In a separate high-profile appearance, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian used the forum to assert that Iran will defend itself “until the last breath.” His speech included the display of portraits of Ali Khamenei and images of students killed in previous strikes. Pezeshkian emphasized that nuclear issues should not be resolved on the battlefield and advocated for diplomacy over military power, despite the heightened tensions following recent political rhetoric from the United States.
