Zelenskyy approval rating rises to 57% amid external pressure

Public trust in Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has increased to 57%, according to a recent survey by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS). This marks a significant rise from previous polling that placed his confidence levels at 43%.

Analysts suggest this increase may reflect a ‘rally around the flag’ effect, where external pressures incite citizens to support their national leader. This trend follows intensified demands from U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Ukrainian concessions and a diesel trade agreement between the United States and Russia.

While domestic issues may prompt criticism of the administration, KIIS Executive Director Anton Hrushevsky noted that citizens appear to support Zelenskyy’s stance in international relations and his efforts to defend Ukrainian interests. Additionally, 73% of respondents opposed the idea of the Ukrainian government being more conciliatory in peace negotiations with Russia.
