Zelenskyy claims Putin has started third world war

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated in an interview with the BBC that Russian President Vladimir Putin has already initiated a third world war. Zelenskyy emphasized that the conflict is not merely about territory but concerns Ukraine's sovereignty and the future of its people. He rejected proposals for territorial concessions, arguing that surrendering land would weaken Ukraine's position and abandon hundreds of thousands of citizens.

Amidst these tensions, US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are expected to visit both Russia and Ukraine to engage in negotiations. President Zelenskyy confirmed on X that Kyiv is preparing for their arrival on Sunday, aiming for constructive discussions.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov noted that US negotiators must account for the rapidly changing situation on the ground, suggesting that current developments are not favoring Ukraine. He stressed that the US government's willingness to invest in a real solution is a decisive factor in the ongoing crisis.
