Zelenskyy expresses readiness for peace talks with Putin
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated his readiness to engage in negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin in any format or location to achieve peace. Zelenskyy noted that the United States has proposed a meeting between Ukrainian and American delegations as early as next week. He emphasized that the specific format—whether bilateral, trilateral, or involving multiple parties—is less important than the ultimate goal of ending the war.
Zelenskyy suggested several potential locations for such discussions, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, or within the framework of a G20 summit in the United States. He also expressed a desire to hold separate discussions with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding maritime and food security, as well as with representatives from Middle Eastern nations.
While the Ukrainian President is prepared for diplomatic engagement, he noted that neither Moscow nor Washington has yet confirmed such a meeting. He also called for increased pressure from the United States against Russia rather than Kyiv to ensure a fair negotiation process.
