Zelenskyy praises strengthening Ukraine-Poland alliance against Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed gratitude to Poland and the Polish people for their support, noting that bilateral relations have significantly improved. Speaking via a WhatsApp group with journalists, Zelenskyy emphasized the necessity of a strong alliance between Ukraine and Poland to face their common enemy, Russia.

Zelenskyy highlighted that a robust partnership between the two nations is a source of concern for Russia. He also commented on a successful meeting with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk held on the sidelines of the EU summit in Brussels, stating that relations should be based on mutual respect and a shared understanding of European security.

This diplomatic warming follows a period of tension triggered in May by Zelenskyy's decision to name a military unit after UPA heroes, a move criticized by Polish leadership. Additionally, the reports note that Zelenskyy recently utilized the Rzeszów airport for international travel, marking a return to previous logistical patterns after a period of strained relations.
