Zelenskyy thanks Greece and Cyprus for support on Ukraine Independence Day

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides for their steadfast support of Ukraine on the occasion of the country's 35th Independence Day.

In a message shared on X, Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of the Greek position regarding territorial integrity and the principle that borders cannot be changed by force. He noted that the concept of “democracy” is rooted in the power of the people to decide their own future, a right he stated Ukraine is currently defending against aggression and coercion.

Zelenskyy also called for increased international pressure on Russia to raise the cost of its aggression and end the war. He concluded by thanking the people of Greece for standing by Ukraine.
