Zelenskyy meets Burnham as UK transfers Stone Cloak electronic‑warfare system to Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the United Kingdom on 27 July 2026 and met new Prime Minister Andy Burnham aboard the aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth at Portsmouth Naval Base. The meeting was the first foreign‑leader visit received by Burnham since taking office.
Britain pledged “unwavering” support for Kyiv and announced it will transfer the intellectual‑property rights of its Stone Cloak electronic‑warfare jammer to Ukraine, along with a commitment to supply thousands of units. The system is designed to jam Russian air‑defence radars that track drones. More than 200 Ukrainian service members, who have been training in the UK, attended the talks.
Zelenskyy thanked the United Kingdom, saying the technology will be “definitely useful on the battlefield”. The visit precedes a scheduled meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington on 28 July 2026. Russian officials meanwhile claimed recent drone strikes on Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea, including two vessels in Mykolaiv.
