Zelenskyy warns of Russian mobilization amid drone strikes on Black Sea ports

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of planning a large-scale military mobilization. Citing intelligence reports and Russian documents, Zelenskyy claims that preparations are being made to recruit several hundred thousand soldiers following Russia's parliamentary elections in September. He suggested that hundreds of thousands could be mobilized by the end of the year, with similar numbers potentially following in 2025.

In a separate escalation, Ukrainian drones launched a massive attack on the Russian Black Sea coast, specifically targeting the port city of Novorossiysk. According to regional authorities, the strikes hit a naval port, a commercial port, and an oil terminal. The attacks resulted in damage to residential buildings and industrial sites, with reports of at least one child killed and several others injured.

Additionally, Zelenskyy has reportedly submitted proposals to US negotiators regarding potential terms to end the conflict, emphasizing the need for stronger air defenses and increased pressure on Moscow.
