Zelina Vega discusses WWE creative restrictions and rejected booking plans

Former WWE wrestler Zelina Vega, now performing as Xelina, has shared insights regarding creative limitations and unexecuted booking plans during her tenure with the company. In an interview with the Ring The Belle YouTube channel, she revealed that she frequently faced instructions to avoid overshadowing other performers during televised segments. These restrictions reportedly extended beyond her microphone work to include her character's appearance, such as specific colors allowed for her wigs.

Vega also detailed a specific creative pitch she developed alongside Chelsea Green involving Zoey Serrano (formerly Zoey Stark). The plan intended for Serrano to cost Vega her Women’s United States Championship and align with Green, a move designed to generate sympathy for Vega as a babyface and create a new storyline for her to pursue. While the idea was discussed by Brian ‘Road Dogg’ James on the Netflix series WWE: Unreal, the plan was ultimately changed by WWE management, who opted to keep the title on Vega.
