Zell apartment building fire results in five rescues

A multi-family residential building in the center of Zell caught fire at approximately 21:52, prompting a major emergency response. Upon arrival, firefighters found the building fully engulfed in flames.

Emergency responders successfully rescued five people and several animals from the building; all were treated and found to be uninjured. To prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring structures, crews utilized two turntable ladders to attack the roof and established multiple defensive lines.

Due to the intensity of the blaze, water supply proved challenging. Crews managed the situation by transporting water over long distances and utilizing agricultural vehicles equipped with vacuum tanks to maintain a continuous supply. The operation involved approximately 130 personnel and 35 vehicles from multiple fire departments, including Pfullendorf, Mengen, Bad Saulgau, Sigmaringen, Krauchenwies, and Hohentengen.
