Petar Guzijan surrenders after shooting in Zemun

Petar Guzijan, known as Mali Cuner, has surrendered to police in Belgrade following a shooting in the Zemun neighborhood of Altina. The incident left 46-year-old Branko B., a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a serious gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was treated at the Zemun Clinical Hospital Center and is reported to be in stable condition.

Investigations reveal that the shooting occurred when the victim arrived at Guzijan’s home. Guzijan reportedly looked through the peephole, failed to recognize his acquaintance, and opened the door, immediately firing a shot. Guzijan claims the discharge was accidental. Following the incident, he fled on foot for approximately three kilometers to hide an unlicensed pistol before calling the police and surrendering with legal counsel.

Guzijan is the son of Jovan Guzijan Cuner, a prominent figure in the Belgrade underworld who was killed in 2002. The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade is charging Guzijan with attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm. He has been placed in police custody for up to 48 hours pending further legal proceedings.
