Tom Holland Credits Zendaya’s ‘Leave‑Me‑If‑You‑Don’t‑Do‑The‑Odyssey’ Ultimatum for Joining Nolan’s Film

Tom Holland revealed that his wife, Zendaya, jokingly told him, “I’ll leave you if you don’t do The Odyssey,” when he was offered the role of Telemachus in Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of the Greek epic. The comment helped sway Holland to accept the part despite a scheduling clash with Sony’s upcoming Spider‑Man: Brand New Day, which was slated to begin filming on the same day. Holland negotiated with Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman to push back the Spider‑Man production, allowing him to appear in both blockbusters.

The couple, who confirmed they are married earlier this year, have been promoting both films together, including a recent New York City date night where Holland stepped in to prevent a wardrobe malfunction for Zendaya. Their joint appearances underscore a rare instance of a Hollywood power couple sharing screen time in two major franchises released within weeks of each other.

Holland also expressed gratitude for the creative challenge of The Odyssey, calling it an “opportunity of a lifetime.”
