At the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, actress Zendaya debuted a new look that signals a shift in beauty trends from “glass skin” to a “satin skin” aesthetic. Wearing a custom, crystal-embellished Prada gown and a new pixie cut, her complexion focused on natural texture rather than an intensely glossy, mirror-like finish.

Makeup artist Ernesto Casillas noted the use of “frosty and satin textures” to achieve a healthy, luminous appearance that remains subtle. Other stars, including Sarah Snook and Claire Danes, also opted for softer, more luminous complexions. This movement toward more natural-looking skin has coincided with a rise in consumer interest, as Google searches for “skin tint” reached approximately 838,000, marking a 5% increase from previous months.
