Zenek Martyniuk and Jacek Kawalec embroiled in musical dispute

A public dispute has escalated between disco polo singer Zenek Martyniuk and Jacek Kawalec, the vocalist for the band Budka Suflera. The conflict originated from a parody performance by Kawalec, which included suggestions that disco polo artists rely on playback during live shows.

Martyniuk has vehemently denied these claims, asserting that he performs live and has even requested that fans record his concerts to prove his vocal authenticity to Kawalec. Martyniuk previously indicated he might pursue legal action regarding the perceived damage to his professional reputation.

In response to the controversy, Kawalec announced his intention to leave Budka Suflera, stating he refuses to submit to artistic censorship. While Kawalec expressed interest in a public reconciliation through a joint performance, Martyniuk reportedly declined the suggestion. Despite his departure, Kawalec is fulfilling his existing contractual obligations with the band, including recent performances in Wrocław.
