Zenek Martyniuk threatens legal action over Jacek Kawalec parody

A dispute has emerged between disco polo singer Zenek Martyniuk and Budka Suflera vocalist Jacek Kawalec following a parody of Martyniuk’s hit “Przez Twe oczy zielone”. Martyniuk has expressed outrage, stating the performance crossed the line from satire into defamation. He specifically took issue with suggestions that he performs with a turned-off microphone, which he claims undermines his credibility as a live performer. Martyniuk has indicated that the matter may result in legal action.

Jacek Kawalec has defended his actions as satire, maintaining that he has no reason to apologize. While Tomasz Zeliszewski, a drummer for Budka Suflera, issued an apology for the controversy, Kawalec has refused to retract his performance.

Actor and comedian Maciej Stuhr commented on the situation, sharing his own experiences with parodying famous artists. Stuhr noted that while laughter can be malicious, it does not always stem from bad intentions, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a sense of humor and professional rapport with those being parodied.
