Zengezur Corridor impacts discussed at Erzurum summit

The 30th Sultan Sekisi Meeting, organized by the Erzurum Development Foundation (ER-VAK), will focus on the strategic and economic implications of the Zengezur Corridor. The event is held in collaboration with the Eastern Anatolia Exporters Union, the Erzurum branch of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association, and the Eastern Anatolia Journalists Association.

Discussions will center on the opportunities and threats the corridor presents for Erzurum and the wider Eastern Anatolia region. Key topics include the creation of new trade routes, increased export opportunities, logistics advantages, and enhanced regional economic activity. The panel will also examine the corridor's role in strengthening economic ties between Turkey, Azerbaijan, the Caucasus, and Central Asia.

Participants will evaluate how Erzurum can leverage its geographic position and logistics infrastructure to convert these opportunities into permanent economic gains. Additionally, the meeting will address potential risks, such as infrastructure inadequacies, competitive pressures, coordination challenges, and security dimensions.
