Zeni & Compañia to triple wood processing capacity in Esquina

Zeni & Compañia, a forestry company with over 60 years of experience in Corrientes, Argentina, has announced a major investment plan to triple its wood processing capacity at its plant in Esquina. The company manages an integrated chain, from its 35,000 hectares of land and specialized nurseries to its industrial facilities.

The expansion includes installing a state-of-the-art boiler with triple the energy capacity and a high-efficiency contraflow drying line to accelerate production times. Currently, the plant employs between 300 and 460 people, receives approximately 20 trucks of wood logs daily, and exports over 85 containers per month, primarily to the United States.

Officials from the Corrientes Ministry of Production recently visited the site to support the growth initiative. While the expansion aims for significant volume increases, the company noted that high land transport costs remain a challenge. The future development of the Port of Lavalle is viewed as a critical infrastructure project that could reduce freight costs for local producers.
