Zenica-Doboj Canton officials announce heating subsidies to improve air quality

Officials in the Zenica-Doboj Canton participated in a panel discussion titled ‘Cleaner Air in ZDK’ to address air quality improvement and pollution reduction. Adnan Šabani, the Minister for Spatial Planning, Transport, Communications, and Environmental Protection, highlighted that achieving cleaner air requires continuous investment and cooperation between institutions, local communities, and citizens.

A key initiative discussed was a subsidy program for home heating systems. The Ministry has approved subsidies for 1,952 households to replace outdated and environmentally harmful heating systems with more efficient solutions. This measure aims to directly reduce harmful particle emissions and improve the regional living environment.

Alen Kapković, a representative in the Zenica-Doboj Canton Assembly, emphasized that air quality is a matter of public health and responsibility toward future generations, supporting measures that yield concrete results for the canton's environment.
