Željezničar opens WWin league season with 2‑1 win over debutants BSK

FK Željezničar Sarajevo began the 2024‑25 WWin league campaign by defeating BSK Banja Luka 2‑1 at Grbavica. The match was decided by a header from 17‑year‑old Korora in the 65th minute and a late strike from reserve Husković five minutes before full‑time. BSK equalised through Čavić in the 69th minute before Željezničar restored the lead.

The victory came amid a turbulent pre‑season for Željezničar. The club failed to register seven of eight summer signings, leaving most new players ineligible for the opening round. Injuries sidelined several regulars and forward Enes Alić was excluded following a disciplinary case. Coach David Muslera Rodriguez praised the team’s effort and the supporters’ energy, noting that the squad still has room for improvement.

Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina president Vico Zeljković highlighted the league’s increased competitiveness and welcomed BSK’s debut in the top tier. The match was officiated by referee Josip Martinović, assisted by Davor Beljo and Amir Hušidić, with VAR officials Mirza Kazlagić and Dragan Kesić.
