ZeniMax Online Studios pushes major The Elder Scrolls Online updates to 2027

ZeniMax Online Studios announced that several large‑scale updates for The Elder Scrolls Online will be postponed from 2026 to 2027, emphasizing a shift from speed to quality. The delay affects the new "Crimson Steppe" trial with mounted combat, a comprehensive class system overhaul, and other system upgrades, while the studio continues work on server infrastructure and smaller updates for the rest of 2026.

Separately, creator Kazutaka Kodaka confirmed that the Danganronpa 2×2 expansion, now titled "Slayhem," has also been moved to a 2027 release. Producer Shohei Sakakibara cited the need for additional development time and a desire to avoid competing with a major AAA title slated for the same period. The new storyline adds roughly 35 hours of play, about 20% longer than the original mode.
