Flamengo offers €30m to Zenit for striker Luiz Henrique
Flamengo has submitted a proposal of €30 million (about R$ 178 million) plus €5 million in performance bonuses to Russian club Zenit for the transfer of 25‑year‑old striker Luiz Henrique, who featured for Brazil at the last World Cup. The club aims to acquire 85 % of the player’s economic rights for a total of up to €35 million, which would make the deal one of the largest in Brazilian football history and would see Luiz Henrique become the highest‑paid member of Flamengo’s squad.
Zenit has stated it will only negotiate on the basis of a full €30 million fee, though it may consider a reduction if another player is included in the deal. Flamengo’s football director José Boto is leading the talks, and squad members such as Lucas Paquetá have publicly welcomed the possible signing, describing Luiz Henrique as a “great athlete”. The negotiations are ongoing, with the club hoping to finalize the transfer in the coming days to strengthen its attacking options for the upcoming season.
