Zenith Bank Plc has launched the inaugural edition of its Girl-Child Empowerment Programme, themed ‘Banking on Her Tomorrow’. The event, held on October 12, 2026, at the Civic Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, hosted 300 schoolgirls aged 13 to 17 from various selected schools.

The programme provided mentorship and training sessions covering financial literacy, investment, etiquette, personal development, social media ethics, and interpersonal relationships. The initiative was established by the bank’s Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dame Adaora Umeoji, to support the economic independence and future career readiness of young women.

Keynote speaker Her Majesty, Olori Atuwatse III, Queen Consort of the Warri Kingdom, addressed the participants, encouraging them to develop resilience and use their abilities to impact others. Financial literacy sessions were facilitated by bank representatives Thelma Okonye and Adesola Adeyemo.
