Zenith Bank Team Tennis tournament begins at Ikoyi Club

The 2026 Zenith Bank Team Tennis tournament is underway at the Ikoyi Club 1938. The competition utilizes a best-of-nine format during the group stages, which will transition to a best-of-three sets format for the semi-final knockout stage.

In the Red Group, Kalada Kienka of the Diaspora Banking Team has maintained strong form, securing consecutive 9-0 victories against Emeka Azinge and Sesan Dada. As of the end of Day 2, the Prestige Banking Team leads the Red Group with 53 points, followed closely by the Diaspora Banking Team with 47 points. Nora Azubuike of the Scan to Pay Team also secured a 7-2 win over Itoya Etomi.

In the Blue Group, the Aspire Team currently leads with 51 points, ahead of the Zeca Team with 46 points. Notable performances include Akeem Mustafa’s 9-0 win over Dominic Icha and Emmanuel Anikibe’s 6-3 victory over Azu Okonkwo. The tournament continues through the round-robin stage, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semifinals.
