Zenith shifts strategy toward energy services and 2030 growth goals
Zenith is implementing a new growth strategy aimed at 2030, moving beyond the simple sale of electricity and natural gas. The company plans to expand into energy efficiency services, heat pumps, and energy upgrades, leveraging Plenitude’s presence in renewable energy production.
CEO Fabio Quaranta noted that the Greek market offers significant growth potential for alternative providers due to high market concentration and the rapid development of renewables. He suggested that the next phase of competition will be defined by the ability to offer integrated solutions rather than just price battles.
Regarding energy costs, Zenith predicts a relatively mild winter for energy prices, contingent on weather conditions and geopolitical stability. While European natural gas stocks are not at peak levels, a mild winter could keep wholesale pressures under control. However, a prolonged cold period could trigger new price increases.
Zenith also addressed market competition, specifically noting that low fixed-price offerings from DEI act as a catalyst for the retail market, forcing providers to reassess their commercial policies. The company noted that approximately half of its new contracts involve fixed “blue” tariffs.
