Zensho Holdings adopts Smart Code at 5,290 restaurants

Zensho Holdings has implemented the ‘Smart Code’ QR and barcode payment scheme across approximately 5,290 of its domestic restaurant locations as of October 1. This expansion includes major brands such as Sukiya and Hama Sushi.

The adoption of the JCB-provided scheme allows customers to use various services including FamiPay, ANA Pay, and several banking-related payment options like OKI Pay and Yucho Pay. The Smart Code system is designed to reduce the administrative burden on both merchants and service providers by unifying merchant contracts and providing a centralized payment information processing center.

While most services are immediately available, some, such as teppay, will be rolled out sequentially. Additionally, certain specific banking payment contracts under the Smart Code scheme are scheduled to conclude on December 20, 2026.
