Zentiva to invest 12 million euros in Bucharest pharmaceutical warehouse

Pharmaceutical manufacturer Zentiva is preparing a 12 million euro investment to construct a new pharmaceutical warehouse and administrative facilities in eastern Bucharest. The project will be located near the company’s existing factory on Theodor Pallady Boulevard and will cover approximately 5,100 square meters.

The new warehouse is designed to hold 11,106 pallets using a vertical storage system. The development also includes a two-story annex for administrative, technical, and social activities, featuring offices, locker rooms, and employee spaces. To facilitate the project, Zentiva plans to demolish several existing structures, including a canteen and a utility building.

This expansion follows the acquisition of the group by the American investment fund GTCR in a transaction valued at approximately 4.1 billion euros. By consolidating adjacent plots, Zentiva has increased its industrial land in the area to 68,270 square meters. The company operates two production units in Bucharest, Zentiva SA and Labormed Pharma SA, with a combined annual capacity of over 190 million boxes.
