Zepto dark store in Jaipur inspected by food safety officials

As part of the ‘Shuddh Aahar – Milawat Par Vaar’ (Pure Food – War on Adulteration) campaign, the Food Safety and Drug Control Department conducted a surprise inspection at a Zepto dark store in Jagatpura, Jaipur.

Officials identified several safety and hygiene violations at the M/s J. D. S. Marketing warehouse. Inspectors found that cold storage temperatures were not being maintained, ranging between 6 and 14°C. Consequently, approximately 1,550 packets of dairy products, including milk, curd, and buttermilk from brands such as Amul and Saras, were destroyed on-site.

Additionally, authorities seized and destroyed 100 kg of damaged food items that lacked mandatory ‘Not for Sale’ markings, along with 7 kg of expired products including muesli, candy, and bhujia. The inspection also noted significant sanitation issues, including the presence of dirt and spit marks around the facility and cold rooms.
