BIST 100 index rises modestly on Istanbul exchange

On June 26, 2026 the BIST 100 index closed 0.10% higher at 14,274.02 points after opening at 14,262.34. The banking sector added 0.20% and the holdings sector 0.73%, while the sport index led sector gains with a 0.99% rise; technology and electricity indices fell about 0.94% each. Trading volume reached 54.8 billion Turkish lira and the most active shares were Turkish Airlines, ASELSAN, Erdemir, Akbank and Astor Energy.

Earlier in the week, the Capital Markets Board imposed a volatility‑based trading restriction on INFO Investment and PRZMA shares, applying a gross‑trade mechanism from 29 June to 28 July. INFO stock jumped 8.8% on June 24, surging 64% for the week, 120% for the month and 152% year‑to‑date, closing at 8 TL. The market was also buoyed by optimistic sentiment from Middle‑East developments and investors kept an eye on forthcoming U.S. economic data.

Overall, Turkish equities showed modest gains amid a mixed global backdrop, with oil prices down 3.9% and gold up 0.6% in local terms.
