Zero Trust cybersecurity model gains traction in Colombia
The Zero Trust approach, which assumes no user or device should be trusted by default, is being promoted as the new global standard for digital security. It requires continuous authentication and verification for every access request, limiting lateral movement by attackers. Organizations are turning to Zero Trust to address the rise in sophisticated cyber‑attacks and the challenges of remote and hybrid work, where employees connect from many devices and locations. The model also incorporates artificial‑intelligence‑driven analytics that can detect anomalous behavior in real time and automatically block or isolate compromised assets. Proponents cite benefits such as reduced data‑leak risk, stronger identity protection, compliance assistance, and minimized impact of internal breaches. Large technology firms already treat Zero Trust as a modern security baseline, and Colombian businesses are increasingly adopting the framework to protect networks, applications, and data.
