Zero Trust security requires both user and device authentication
The cybersecurity landscape is shifting toward Zero Trust models that require the simultaneous authentication of both users and devices to combat evolving threats. As attackers increasingly move away from stealing traditional passwords toward hijacking session tokens or using compromised devices, relying solely on user identity is no longer sufficient.
Modern phishing kits and adversary-in-the-middle attacks are designed to bypass multi-factor authentication (MFA) in real time. To counter this, security experts suggest that identity must be continuously verified alongside the device's security status at every access point, rather than just during the initial login process.
