Zero Waste initiatives expand in Kahramanmaraş and Kocaeli

The Zero Waste Foundation is conducting workshops across Turkey as part of its national environmental and climate change program. In Kahramanmaraş, a workshop titled ‘Waste, Waste, and Resource Management from Local to National’ was held under the auspices of the Kahramanmaraş Governorship. The event brought together stakeholders from various sectors, including local universities and provincial directorates, to develop action plans and reports for improved resource management.

In Kocaeli, a seminar was organized specifically for female neighborhood heads (muhtars) to address climate change, recycling, and zero waste practices. The program focused on waste separation, the expansion of recycling, and the use of collection points within neighborhoods. Participants discussed local environmental challenges and the role of community leaders in increasing environmental awareness among citizens. These efforts align with the broader Zero Waste Project initiated by Emine Erdoğan.
