Zerodha and Zee Entertainment report mixed FY26 financial results
Major Indian companies Zerodha and Zee Entertainment reported mixed or declining financial results for fiscal year 2026, facing headwinds from regulatory changes and shifting consumer spending.
Zerodha reported flat revenue of approximately Rs 8,500 crore and a net profit of Rs 4,300 crore. CEO Nithin Kamath attributed the stagnant growth to regulatory changes in the futures and options market, which reduced trading volumes, and a market peak in September 2024. Despite these challenges, the brokerage is utilizing artificial intelligence to refine products and is expanding its services for non-resident Indians and U.S. investing.
Zee Entertainment saw a 10% decline in advertising revenue, totaling ₹3,224.3 crore, driven by a slowdown in FMCG spending and a migration of budgets toward digital platforms and quick-commerce. While its consolidated operating revenue fell 2% year-on-year to ₹80,989 million, the company noted that its linear television network share reached a six-year high of 17.4%.
