Zespół Szkół Nr 1 in Łuków to celebrate 100th anniversary

The Henryk Sienkiewicz School Complex No. 1 in Łuków, Poland, is preparing to celebrate its centenary in 2027. The school's history dates back to 1927, when it began operations as a Vocational Supplementary School.

Preparations for the jubilee will take place throughout the 2026/2027 school year. Planned activities include student competitions, historical exhibitions, and the publication of a commemorative book detailing the school's history and the people who shaped it. The school is actively inviting alumni and retired staff to contribute photographs, memorabilia, and personal memories to be used in exhibitions and publications.

Two major events are scheduled for 2027. On June 4, ceremonies for the current school community will include an awards ceremony, the planting of an oak tree, the interment of a time capsule, a polonaise dance, and a student-versus-alumni match. On June 11, formal centenary celebrations will be held, featuring the Second Alumni Convention, a commemorative mass, and a formal academy.
