Zeven fire series causes 1.5 million euros in damage

A series of three major fires in Zeven, located in the Rotenburg district, has caused more than 1.5 million euros in damage and left three people injured. Police are investigating whether the incidents are linked and have stated that intentional arson cannot be ruled out.

The first fire occurred on a Saturday night, destroying a high-end electric vehicle and causing 150,000 euros in damage. The following night, eleven cars near a row house complex caught fire, spreading to two homes. Two residents, aged 60 and 62, suffered serious injuries after jumping from the building to escape. This incident caused approximately 750,000 euros in damage.

The third fire took place on Monday night at a company site roughly 700 meters from the previous residential fire, involving six motorhomes and spreading to a nearby house. An 89-year-old resident was evacuated safely by a relative. This fire resulted in an estimated 650,000 euros in damage.

Police have launched a digital portal for the public to upload surveillance footage, dashcam recordings, or photos that might assist the investigation. Authorities are also examining potential connections to previous fires in the region.
