Zevenbergen launches housing project as bird club moves into local gym

The municipality of Moerdijk is developing a new residential area on the former Machinefabriek Brabant Van Opstal site in Zevenbergen. The plan calls for 21 homes; 12 have already been sold since the sale began in March, and six additional plots are expected to go on the market in September. Two warehouses on the Huizersdijk, which were destroyed by a large fire in 2022, are slated for demolition under the revised zoning plan.

Meanwhile, the local bird‑watching association Zanglust has secured a new 120‑square‑metre venue inside Pals Fitness, a fitness and padel centre in Zevenbergen. After weeks of searching for space following the closure of their previous hall, the club will move in by 1 September, with its first exhibition scheduled for November.
